Responsible for the maintenance and operation of the WISE platform, which is the infrastructure for a wide variety of apps

Since joining the company in April 2022, I have been in charge of maintaining and operating the servers of the "WISE Platform", which is the infrastructure for apps and devices used by Dai-ichi Life's sales and administrative staff, as well as customer-specific websites. Specific tasks include responding to various inquiries and work requests from the application teams and providing error logs.

The basic work style is to prioritize any problems that require an emergency response while carrying out regular tasks. Therefore, there is no set daily workflow such as "this task in the morning, this in the afternoon". It is important to respond flexibly and quickly, taking into account the priority of the tasks.

Work experience and getting to know key people in each field helped me grow

An important point in carrying out infrastructure maintenance and operation work is communication with Dai-ichi Life personnel who request work or information provision, and with other departments within DLTX. When I first joined the company, there were times when I did not know the meaning of the terms and accepted requests without fully understanding the content. In such cases, I would check the points of doubt with my senior instructor, who acted as a mentor for first-year new employees, before carrying out the work.

As I gained more work experience at DLTX, I was able to listen to the details of the request, pick up references from the work I had been in charge of, and start the work while anticipating the optimal response method. There are more and more cases where the work proceeds smoothly, thanks to such anticipation and judgment, and I feel that I am growing step by step.

In addition, DLTX has many excellent seniors who are highly regarded by those around them as "people you should consult about this matter". They are people who are called key people in each field. When I faced a problem that was difficult to solve on my own, I found that having a key person nearby to ask questions and consult with, helped improve work efficiency and quality.

One of the current issues is how to improve operations, which are a heavy burden on infrastructure operators, as requests tend to be concentrated on those of us in charge of infrastructure operations. To resolve this issue, we are working on creating new mechanisms and automating operations.

The appeal of DLTX is the wide range of initiatives in which young people can actively participate

The main reason I applied to join DLTX during my job search was because they offer many initiatives in which young employees can actively participate, such as Studio Xedge, where you can learn the mindset and attitude required for DX while experiencing the latest digital technology.

Another reason I decided to join DLTX was that I felt an atmosphere that made me want to work together, not only with the people at DLTX I spoke to during the recruitment process, but also with the applicants with whom I had a discussion in an online group. There were four of us in that discussion, including me, and three of us ended up joining DLTX and are still working in our respective sections.

In the future, I would like to improve my knowledge and skills in my current role of infrastructure maintenance and operation while also taking on projects other than infrastructure-related ones.
