Q1 Why did you decide to join DLTX?
I was attracted to the idea of working closely with users and creating a sense of unity as a team.
I had been looking into the IT industry and felt that the atmosphere was positive.
I also felt that the attitude of "taking on new challenges" suited me.
I wanted to do a job that would help people, so I decided to get involved in developing systems for life insurance.
I was particularly impressed with the Dai-ichi Life Group's philosophy of putting customers first.
I applied because I thought I could put to use the skills that I learned in the field of requirements definition at university.
Another plus point is that it's a workplace where you can hear customer feedback up close.
I thought that DLTX, which has a comprehensive education system, would allow me to acquire solid technical skills.
I was attracted by the words of an employee I met during my internship.
After joining the company, I was assigned to the same department as him and are now senior and junior!
Q2 Please tell us about the atmosphere within the company.
If you raise your hand, you can try anything!
There are many seniors who are willing to give me advice when I'm in trouble, so I feel at ease.
I get the feeling that senior employees are actively nurturing their juniors.
Opinions of young employees are heard carefully.
It's not a stuffy place, and it's very friendly.
It's generally a lively place, but when it's time to work, they do it seriously, so there's a good balance!
Q3 What are the common characteristics or qualities of employees at your company?
Many people are passionate and take initiatives in their work.
People with a quick mind, a curious mind, who loves to chat, and who smiles a lot.
I think most people are empathetic towards others' opinions.
The atmosphere is friendly and it's easy to talk to them.
I get the impression that most people here do their jobs carefully.
Everyone has strengths in their own field, and they work together across teams.
Q4 Please tell us about a moment that you found interesting while working.
When I successfully coordinate with other departments.
I can feel that my interpersonal skills are improving.
When I understand something that I didn't understand in the first place or when someone says, "that's a good question".
It gives me confidence that my way of thinking was not wrong!
The moment I see a user using a feature I came up with.
I realize that the feature that I worked on so hard to create is useful to people.
When I solve an error or other problem together with my teammates.
I feel a sense of accomplishment that "We've overcome another hurdle!"
It's those moments when a system that you only have a partial understanding of starts to come together as you do various tasks.
It makes me feel like I'm growing.
Even though I'm in my first year, I'm entrusted with tasks and can feel my own growth every day.
I find it exciting when things that I found difficult during training become easy to carry out through work.
Q5 Can you share a time when you messed up?
The operation failed due to an error in the application process.
My superiors and seniors covered for me, and we were able to recover quickly, which made me realize that I am surrounded by good people.
I accidentally overwrote the minutes my boss had written and saved them...
When I was creating test data, I saved it incorrectly, and it disappeared a few days later.
It was a lot of work to have to recreate it from scratch.
When I was working on several tasks at the same time, I forgot one and missed the deadline.
I learned the difficulty and importance of task management.
Q6 Please tell us what you consider important when doing your job.
As a system engineer, I interact with many people and work together with them to get the job done, so I try to work with consideration for others.
The most important thing to me is to "see things from the other person's perspective".
I believe this is the same in my work whether the other person is a customer, a business partner, or a DLTX employee.
My goal is to become a leader in systems.
I try to improve anything I notice and think about how I can improve things.
Working as a team member with a sense of unity.
I don't compromise just because I am new.
From the customer's perspective, seniority doesn't matter, I am an employee of DLTX for them, so I try to take responsibility for my work.
To avoid turning my work into a chore, I always try to keep in mind "why I need to do this work".
Q7 What is one memorable moment in your work life so far?
When I was feeling sorry for having been helped, my senior colleague said to me, "It's okay, it's my job to follow up".
Having my boss say "I have high expectations from him" when I was not around.
When I was feeling anxious the day before the start of an operation, my boss said to me, "I know you did everything you could. If anything happens, I'll take responsibility, so don't worry".
I feel very happy when a customer or my boss says "thank you" for a job that I have completed despite the difficulties.
Once customer said, "I could feel that you were willing to meet more requests, and I felt at ease leaving the project in your hands!"
A month after I was assigned to the department, a senior colleague said to me, "It feels like we've been together for about six months now".
I remember being very happy because I was worried at the time whether I would be able to fit into the department I'd been assigned to.
Q8 Did you feel any gap between before and after joining the company?
I've been able to work at my own discretion more than I expected.
Of course there are deadlines, but how I manage my time is up to me.
Before joining the company, I thought that an SE only needed to focus on technical skills, but looking back since being assigned to the company, I realized that communication skills, planning ability, etc. are more important.
As a new employee, I thought I would mainly be involved in one aspect of a project as a worker, but I feel a pleasant surprise in the fact that I work in an environment where even young people can be entrusted with the role of PM.
I have realized that more knowledge about insurance is required when developing a system than I had imagined, and I often feel that I have not studied enough.
Q9 What do you want to accomplish at DLTX?
In addition to development knowledge, I aim to improve my technical and interpersonal skills and be recognized by everyone.
I aim to be a resource who has a mindset to take on new challenges every day and who can create something from nothing.
My goal is to understand the system I'm in charge of so well that I can call it my own.
My goal is to be like my current boss!
I am involved in Studio Xedge's activities which are based on the theme of designing businesses using IT, so in the future I would like to create services that combine IT and business.
I am currently working in a position to maintain and operate Dai-ichi Life's network, so I would like to grow as an expert on networks overall and help DLTX provide a stable network infrastructure.
Q10 Please give a message for job-hunting students.
I think it's important to broaden your horizons so that you can find a company that makes you feel intuitively like "this is it!" without overthinking it too much.
I hope that you can find a company that suits your true self.
And I look forward to the day when I can work with people who feel that DLTX is that company.
This is a company that requires not only engineering ability, but also initiative and leadership to drive projects forward.
If you want to hone your overall skills as an engineer, I recommend joining the company.
As a member of the company and in a responsible position, working professionals are expected to constantly grow as human resources.
It's important to think long-term and consider which company will sympathize with and support the kind of person you want to be.
You won't know which company is right for you until you actually work there.
I believe that job hunting is merely a steppingstone and how hard you work once you're hired is important, so I think it's best to look for a job in a relaxed manner without cutting corners.
Don't get too worked up and just enjoy it!
